I once asked myself of how capable I am of being a volunteer in my own community. A lot events have enabled to awaken me with the issues that my country, the Philippines, is facing. There are a lot of responsibilties being faced by today’s generation. One of these is on how to harness government and non-government resources that are expected to augment the quality of living of the people in times of need.
My generation is vulnerable to changes. These changes help us think of ways on how to cope with them that we can hardly bear. Having the spirit of volunteerism sharpens the persona.
Well-established youth organizations have been ermerging nowadays aiming to help in cultivating welfare programs. To further prove that these orgs can stand as volunteer units, strengthening of networks with other establishments and extending help to more localities are steadily being implemented to better help in sustaining the needs of the society.
Philippines is a big country. Are we capable to grow without leaving anyone behind? Are we progressive enough to withstand on our own? I think not yet.
A lot of organizations in different localities are in dire need of volunteers to repack relief goods for the victims. It’s never too late to help.
